Graphite is a very stable form of carbon. Soft-material gaskets made of the crystalline graphite material have a particularly high compressibility, a very good compensating capacity and a high chemical resistance. Graphite gaskets reliably seal gases and liquids, withstand even large temperature fluctuations and can be stored indefinitely.
